CNNC Xiyi Waste Barrel Storage Well Grinding Robot Completes On-Site Testing

CNNC Xiyi Waste Barrel Storage Well Grinding Robot Completes On-Site Testing

Recently, the waste barrel storage well grinding robot developed by CNNC Xiyi officially completed on-site testing in the grinding project of the process BOP (three wastes) storage wells of Units 3 and 4 at Xudabao, marking a substantial breakthrough in the field of automated construction in confined deep-well spaces within the nuclear industry. Waste barrel storage wells feature great depth, small openings, high verticality requirements, and high dust concentrations. Traditional manual grinding requires multiple workers to take turns entering the confined space, resulting in long construction cycles and high risks. The grinding robot developed by CNNC Xiyi is equipped with an XYZ three-axis movement mechanism and a multi-degree-of-freedom motion system with R rotation and W width adjustment, covering a working width of 12 meters with a maximum grinding depth of 5 meters, applicable to the construction of standard waste barrel storage wells across various reactor types...

First Batch of Non-Safety-Class Main Instrumentation and Control Cabinets for Unit 1 of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Arrived

First Batch of Non-Safety-Class Main Instrumentation and Control Cabinets for Unit 1 of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Arrived

Recently, the non-safety-class main instrumentation and control (I&C) cabinets for Unit 1 of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant arrived smoothly and were delivered to the plant site. The main I&C cabinets are core critical equipment for unit control and operation management at nuclear power plants, undertaking full-process functions such as data acquisition, logic calculation, process control, interlock protection, and operation monitoring. They can be regarded as the "central brain" ensuring the safe, controllable, and stable operation of nuclear power units. This equipment features high technical precision, strong integration, and stringent safety classification requirements, offering advantages such as high control accuracy, fast response speed, strong operational stability, and excellent fault tolerance, thereby ensuring safe, stable, and efficient unit operation. To ensure the equipment arrived on schedule, Liaoning Nuclear Power proactively took the lead, coordinated precisely, and efficiently linked the efforts of the general contractor, equipment manufacturer, and design institute, breaking through the collaborative chain across solution optimization, manufacturing, and factory acceptance testing, overcoming difficulties and advancing efficiently. By the end of July, all preparatory work was completed ahead of schedule, and the equipment arrived on time, laying a solid foundation for subsequent project milestones.

Hongyanhe Nuclear Power's Cold Source Management Experience Featured on WANO Official Website

Hongyanhe Nuclear Power's Cold Source Management Experience Featured on WANO Official Website

Recently, the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) published a feature report on its official website titled "Operational Excellence in Action: Hongyanhe transforms its Cold Source Resilience," introducing Hongyanhe Company's practical progress in ensuring cold source water intake to nuclear power peers worldwide. Cold source safety is a critical component of the nuclear defense-in-depth system. Coastal nuclear power plants generally pay close attention to the impact of seasonal marine organism accumulation on plant water intake safety, a natural environmental challenge commonly faced by coastal nuclear power plants globally. As the first nuclear power plant in Northeast China...

Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant Equipment Criticality Classification System Goes Live

Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant Equipment Criticality Classification System Goes Live

Recently, the equipment criticality classification system at Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant was officially put into operation, marking a new stage in equipment classification management transitioning from traditional offline spreadsheet management to online systematic management, and opening a new chapter in digital management. Equipment classification is the foundation of equipment reliability management. To optimize production management and maintenance resource allocation, and to ensure the safe, stable, and economical operation of nuclear power units, nuclear power plants need to implement classified management of equipment, making plant maintenance resources more focused on critical equipment that affects the safe and stable operation of units, and optimizing equipment maintenance costs. However, the traditional equipment classification management model faces many pain points. The classification work involves 740,000 equipment functional locations, with a huge and scattered amount of data, relying on manual maintenance; the synchronization of equipment classification data with SAP and CCM system data lags behind, and the approval of the classification process relies on offline circulation, resulting in long cycles and difficult version management.

Second Ring of Steel Containment Vessel for Reactor Building of Unit 2 at Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Place

Second Ring of Steel Containment Vessel for Reactor Building of Unit 2 at Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Place

At 9:57 on August 4, the second ring of the steel containment vessel (hereinafter referred to as CV Ring 2) for the reactor building of Unit 2 at Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant was successfully hoisted into place. The CV Ring 2 hoisted this time is the third ring segment of the steel containment vessel for Unit 2, with a hoisting weight of nearly 890 tons. During the assembly phase, the installation of multiple discipline items, including annular air ducts, steel structural annular corridors, and U-shaped supports for air turbulence, was completed simultaneously for this module, effectively reducing the risk of cross-operation interference in subsequent internal construction of the nuclear island. This approach fully leveraged the advantages of modular construction and effectively translated the concept of "modularize wherever applicable, prefabricate wherever installable" into tangible engineering outcomes. During the assembly and hoisting of CV Ring 2 for Unit 2, Liaoning Nuclear Power, in collaboration with...
