Specialized Training on Effluent and Environmental Monitoring for CNNC Environmental Protection Successfully Held at CIRP

To thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and enhance the management and technical capabilities of member units regarding effluent and environmental monitoring, a specialized training session was successfully held in Taiyuan on July 21–22. Hosted by CNNC Environmental Protection and organized by the China Institute for Radiation Protection (CIRP), the event featured an opening ceremony on the morning of July 21, attended via video link by He Changsheng, Deputy General Manager of CNNC Environmental Protection, and in person by Du Xuegong, Deputy Director of CIRP.

The training was closely aligned with operational realities, focusing on two professional areas: radioactive monitoring and non-radioactive environmental monitoring. The curriculum covered interpretations of the *Code of Ecological Environment* and the *Regulations on Ecological Environment Monitoring*, effluent data reporting, end-to-end sample processing, radionuclide analysis and detection, and online monitoring management for wastewater treatment plants. Experts from the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, CIRP, and CNNC Environmental Protection delivered the lectures. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, case studies, on-site training, and group discussions, the program aimed to provide targeted solutions to practical issues encountered on the front lines of monitoring operations.

During the event, participants toured CIRP’s environmental monitoring and sample analysis laboratories and engaged in discussions on topics such as monitoring quality assurance and ensuring effluent compliance. This intensive training reinforced the participants' commitment to environmental protection standards and provided them with a precise understanding of standardized environmental monitoring workflows. Attendees pledged to strictly implement relevant requirements, fulfill their primary responsibilities for environmental protection, ensure the authenticity, accuracy, and completeness of monitoring data, and continue to lay a solid technical foundation for the green, high-quality development of CNNC Environmental Protection.

More than 60 key safety and environmental management personnel and technical staff from various member units participated in the training.
