North China Regional Office of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Conducts Supervisory Radiation Environmental Monitoring at Tongliao Uranium Industry

To further strengthen the radiation environmental monitoring management of uranium mining and metallurgy facilities, consolidate the primary responsibility of enterprises for radiation environmental monitoring, and fortify the radiation environmental safety defense line of uranium mining and metallurgy facilities, the North China Regional Office of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the North China Regional Office) recently organized and carried out supervisory radiation environmental monitoring work at CNNC Tongliao Uranium Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tongliao Uranium Industry). Personnel from the Nuclear and Radiation Monitoring Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were simultaneously dispatched to collaborate on the work.

This monitoring work strictly adhered to the standard requirements of the "Regulations on Radiation Environmental Monitoring for Uranium Mining and Metallurgy" and the regulatory requirements of "three full coverages" in radiation environmental monitoring. Closely focusing on the radiation environmental impact characteristics of uranium mining and metallurgy facilities, a special supervisory monitoring work plan was scientifically formulated, and sample collection of various environmental media including ambient air, aerosols, water bodies, soil, and organisms around the facilities was carried out in strict accordance with the plan, effectively ensuring the comprehensiveness, standardization, and effectiveness of the monitoring work. During the monitoring period, the North China Regional Office also jointly organized in-depth discussions and exchanges with the Nuclear and Radiation Monitoring Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Tongliao Uranium Industry, focusing on key links and difficult issues in supervisory monitoring and enterprise self-monitoring, further consolidating the radiation monitoring responsibility awareness of all parties and building consensus on conducting standardized monitoring and strictly controlling environmental risks.

In the next step, the North China Regional Office will pay close attention to the quality management of laboratory analysis of samples, strictly control the quality of radiation monitoring data, and provide scientific and robust data support for accurately identifying radiation environmental risk hazards and strengthening the radiation environmental safety supervision of uranium mining and metallurgy facilities, based on authentic, accurate, and comprehensive supervisory monitoring data.
