CGN Dasheng Launches BV Cable X-Ray Thickness Gauge for Full Online Inspection of Cable Insulation Layers

CGN Dasheng Accelerator Technology Co., Ltd. recently announced that its BV cable X-ray thickness gauge can be used for online inspection of insulation layers during cable production. The system employs X-ray technology to perform real-time measurement of key parameters such as cable outer diameter, inner diameter, wall thickness, eccentricity, and concentricity, replacing the potential detection blind spots inherent in traditional sampling inspection methods.

In cable production, insulation layer thickness directly affects product safety and material utilization. Traditional inspection typically relies on sample cutting, manual measurement, and recording, with limited inspection frequency. If issues such as uneven wall thickness or eccentricity occur during production, they are often difficult to detect in a timely manner, which also hinders subsequent quality traceability and process adjustment.

According to the company, the equipment adopts a "dual X-ray tube + dual photon-counting detector" configuration, which enhances measurement stability through dual-channel data acquisition, verification, and backup. Photon-counting detection technology reduces image noise and improves the ability to identify fine details in detection, thereby enabling continuous non-destructive inspection of cable insulation layers.

In terms of performance parameters, the thickness gauge achieves a resolution of up to 50 micrometers, a maximum inspection line speed of 20 meters per second, and a maximum inspectable cable diameter of 15 millimeters, covering mainstream cable specifications. The equipment also supports integration with industrial networks such as CAN bus, RS485, and Ethernet, and can be connected to PLC and MES systems for production line automation and quality data management.

The accompanying software platform provides real-time display of data including conductor inner diameter, insulation outer diameter, wall thickness, eccentricity, and concentricity. When measured parameters exceed the set range, the system can issue audible and visual alarms to prompt timely intervention in the production process. Additionally, the system can record historical data and generate trend charts for outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness variations, as well as production analysis reports, providing a basis for quality traceability and process optimization.

According to available information, CGN Dasheng Accelerator Technology Co., Ltd. was established in May 2007 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGN Nuclear Technology Development Co., Ltd. Its business scope covers electron accelerator development, electron beam radiation application development, non-destructive testing equipment, and intelligent manufacturing.
