Northeast China Regional Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Organizes 2026 Northeast Regional Radiation Monitoring Comparison and Technical Exchange Activity

To further enhance the radiation monitoring capability and level in Northeast China and deepen technical exchanges and cooperation in radiation monitoring within the region, the Northeast China Regional Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the Northeast Supervision Station), relying on the Northeast Base of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, recently organized the 2026 Northeast Regional Radiation Monitoring Comparison and Technical Exchange Activity. Frontline monitoring technical experts from units including the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Marine Environmental Monitoring Center, provincial-level radiation monitoring institutions of the three northeastern provinces, Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., and CNNC Liaoning Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. participated in this event.

Activity Scene

This technical exchange activity closely aligns with the actual work of nuclear and radiation monitoring in the Northeast region, adheres to practical training, highlights problem orientation, and establishes a dual comparison model of "on-site actual measurement + laboratory blind sample verification." It promotes learning through comparison, enhances capability through learning, and improves efficiency through capability. This activity serves both as a comprehensive test of the overall professional level of the radiation monitoring team in Northeast China and as an important platform for regional peers to exchange technologies, learn from each other's strengths, and collaboratively improve.

The activity focused on core business needs, selecting projects such as tritium in water, gamma nuclides in soil and biological ash, and environmental gamma radiation dose rate for comparison. These projects cover key areas of radiation environmental monitoring as well as application scenarios such as on-site field measurements and emergency monitoring, demonstrating strong representativeness and practicality. Combined with expert precise evaluations, the activity comprehensively and deeply tested the monitoring technical capabilities of each unit. Senior technical experts were invited to deliver specialized training lectures, which, in conjunction with the study and implementation of the "Ecological Environment Monitoring Regulations," provided in-depth interpretations of the full-process quality assurance for radiation monitoring and core points of emergency monitoring. Units also shared experiences and conducted technical exchange discussions on aspects such as the construction and operation of radiation environmental monitoring networks, emergency system construction and talent team development, and quality management of monitoring institutions, thereby consolidating a consensus on regional linkage and collaborative quality improvement to jointly promote the quality and efficiency of radiation monitoring work in Northeast China.

In the next step, the Northeast Supervision Station will solidify the effective model of this activity, further leverage the nuclear and radiation monitoring resource advantages of the Northeast region, deepen technical exchanges and cooperation, and establish mechanisms for regular technical competitions, blind sample comparisons, and cross-verification of data. This will continuously enhance the professional competence and emergency response capabilities of the radiation monitoring team in Northeast China, providing a solid guarantee for safeguarding the nuclear and radiation safety bottom line in the region.
