On the morning of July 30, data transmission at all monitoring stations returned to normal. A total of six radiation monitoring stations are located in Kumamoto Prefecture, distributed across Kumamoto City, Uto City, and other areas, used for real-time measurement of radiation levels in the environment. Starting around 11 p.m. on July 28, data transmission from these stations was suddenly interrupted, making it impossible to assess local radiation levels. This situation drew significant attention from relevant authorities.
According to information from the Nuclear Regulation Authority of Japan, all monitoring stations restored data transmission functions at around 9 a.m. on July 30. Preliminary investigations indicate that the server in Uto City was unable to operate normally due to the power outage, which is considered the primary cause of the data interruption.
It is worth noting that despite the malfunction at the monitoring stations, the data transmitted back remained within normal ranges. The Nuclear Regulation Authority of Japan will conduct an in-depth investigation into this incident to determine the specific causes and implement appropriate preventive measures to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities and public health.
