Saskatchewan, Canada Releases Long-Term Nuclear Energy Strategy: Plans to Build 2,600 MW of Nuclear Power by 2050
Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan, Canada, officially announced the province's long-term nuclear energy development plan in Saskatoon on September 29, establishing a strategic goal of building at least 2,600 megawatts (MW) of nuclear power capacity by 2050. Moe emphasized that nuclear energy is not only a zero-carbon clean baseload power source, but also a "nation-building opportunity" that empowers economic growth for generations, will create high-end jobs across the province, attract multinational capital, and ensure long-term electricity stability for households and industry. According to the plan, four core pillars have been established: 1. Build a highly resilient power foundation supporting long-term economic growth: Rely on non-intermittent zero-carbon nuclear energy to address the electricity load gap brought about by society-wide electrification...

Danzhou in Hainan Advances "Nuclear Power to Yangpu" and "Nuclear Steam to Yangpu" to Support Zero-Carbon Industrial Park Development
On September 2, the series of themed press conferences for the "15th Five-Year Plan" kickoff (fifth session at the city and county level) — the Danzhou special session was held. A relevant official from Danzhou stated that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Danzhou will focus on building a new-type power system, a new-type energy system, and zero-carbon industrial parks and low-carbon city development, promoting deep integration of clean energy with port-adjacent industries, and striving to become a national demonstration area for new-type power systems. According to the released content, during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Hainan Power Grid plans to invest 5 billion yuan in Danzhou to build a coordinated "transmission-distribution-microgrid" three-tier power grid. By 2030, Danzhou will fully establish a layered, zoned, and independently operated grid framework, promote "nuclear power to Yangpu" to achieve local consumption of green electricity with full-chain traceability and verifiability, reducing the regional power carbon emission factor across the entire area to below 0.05 kgCO₂/kWh.

Hainan Danzhou Plans to Integrate Nuclear Power into Yangpu 220kV Power Grid
On August 21, the "New Advantages of the Free Trade Port 'Showcase' — Danzhou New Energy System Industrial Chain Cooperation Matchmaking Conference" was held in Shanghai. Representatives from nearly a hundred enterprises, investment and financing institutions, industry associations, and professional service organizations attended the event to exchange views on topics such as new energy system development and green, low-carbon industrial transformation, and signed a batch of cooperation agreements on site. Regarding nuclear power-related planning, Hainan Power Grid Co., Ltd. stated that it is accelerating the construction of a new-type power system featuring zoned power supply and tiered operation in Danzhou. According to the plan, by 2030, a relatively independent new-type power grid will take shape across Danzhou, with nuclear power directly connected to the 220kV power grid in the Danzhou-Yangpu area. By then...
