Domestically Produced Nuclear-Grade Resins Fully Verified and Ready for Use
On August 28, China General Nuclear Power Group (hereinafter referred to as CGN) announced that five nuclear-grade resin products developed under its leadership have all been put into engineering application, with a cumulative total of 12 batches used at nuclear power plants including Daya Bay, Ningde, Yangjiang, Taishan, and Hongyanhe. Among them, the first product has been operating stably for over three years in the steam generator blowdown system (APG system) of nuclear power plants, with key performance indicators comprehensively outperforming imported counterparts of the same category, and the domestic nuclear-grade resin production line. Nuclear-grade resins are known as the "kidneys" of nuclear power water treatment systems, serving as core materials that ensure stable water chemistry indicators of nuclear power units and prevent equipment corrosion. For a long time, these materials have been highly dependent on imports, posing supply security risks such as long delivery cycles, unstable batch quality, and rising prices year by year.

China's First Enterprise-Level Synchrotron Radiation Technology Application Research Platform Inaugurated in Shanghai
The Sinopec Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility Energy and Chemical Science Laboratory, invested by Sinopec and jointly built with the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and based on the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) major scientific infrastructure, was recently inaugurated in Shanghai Zhangjiang Science City. This laboratory is the first enterprise-level synchrotron radiation technology application research platform in China. According to reports, the laboratory consists of three beamline stations and auxiliary laboratories, and will provide technical support and services for basic scientific research conducted by Sinopec and public users, with a focus on oil and gas exploration and development, petroleum refining and chemical engineering, and new energy and new materials. Nuclear energy accounts for about 19% of Russia's energy mix

Unit 1 at South Africa's Koeberg Nuclear Power Station Automatically Shuts Down

U.S. Deployable Energy Microreactor Selected for Two Nuclear Energy Demonstration Projects
Deployable Energy announced on August 28 that its advanced deployable energy system has been selected for two upcoming demonstration projects under the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC): a full-power demonstration of the nuclear energy startup platform at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), and an offshore demonstration of the U.S. nuclear energy startup platform in collaboration with Hornbeck Offshore. Japan to Establish New Decontamination Base in Okuma, Fukushima
Japan's Ministry of the Environment has decided to establish a new work base in Okuma Town, Fukushima Prefecture, in the next fiscal year to coordinate decontamination and house demolition work in difficult-to-return zones following the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)'s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, aiming to accelerate environmental recovery in the affected areas. Within seven municipalities surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, approximately 309 square kilometers have been designated as difficult-to-return zones. These areas remain under strict control, with restrictions on residential habitation and entry, and evacuation orders remain in effect. Within the difficult-to-return zones, the Japanese government has established "specified return residential areas" and plans to advance decontamination, house demolition, and other measures based on residents' intentions to return.
