Module 4 of Steel Liner for Unit 3 of San'ao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted

Module 4 of Steel Liner for Unit 3 of San'ao Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted

At 8:16 a.m. on August 15, the hoisting operation of Module 4 of the 3BRX steel liner for Unit 3 of the San'ao Nuclear Power Plant was officially launched. Under the stable operation of the 2,000-ton crawler crane of CNNC Machinery Engineering, the module successively completed a series of procedures including slewing, load-bearing travel, and alignment adjustment. After 220 minutes, the hoisting task was successfully completed. Module 4 of Unit 3 hoisted this time was integrally assembled from the fourth and fifth layers of the cylinder, with a diameter of approximately 45 meters and a height of 11.46 meters. The module features a large volume, susceptibility to deformation, and limited slewing space for the crane. The project team strictly implemented the special plan, completed site reinforcement, transport of baskets and counterweights, and crawler crane relocation in advance, organized hoisting simulation drills, and comprehensively inspected various safety hazards...

Successful Hoisting of Module 3 of the Passive Containment Cooling Water Tank for Unit 4 of Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant

Successful Hoisting of Module 3 of the Passive Containment Cooling Water Tank for Unit 4 of Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant

On August 15, the hoisting of Module 3 of the passive containment cooling water tank in the reactor building of the nuclear island of Unit 4 at Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed, with the entire hoisting process being safe and quality-controlled. The passive containment cooling water tank is an important component of the passive part of the containment cooling water injection system. With a total height of 22.02 meters, it features a non-uniform cross-section in an approximately fan-shaped structure and is planned as three integral modules. Module 3, hoisted this time, had a total lifting weight of approximately 132.8 tons and a height of 5.84 meters, and was positioned using a 2000-ton-class crawler crane. As the crane slowly lifted the module, through a series of precise operations including hook lifting, boom slewing, crane traveling, and luffing, Module 3 was smoothly placed onto Module 2 of the passive containment cooling water tank, with the entire process proceeding seamlessly...

Polar Crane of Unit 1 of Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Expansion Phase I Project Officially Available

Polar Crane of Unit 1 of Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Expansion Phase I Project Officially Available

On August 12, the load test of the polar crane for Unit 1 of the Expansion Phase I Project was successfully completed, with all performance indicators fully meeting design requirements, marking that the polar crane is officially ready for use and creating favorable conditions for subsequent key tasks such as the introduction and positioning of main equipment in the nuclear island. The polar crane is the core lifting equipment in the reactor building, undertaking critical lifting and handling tasks throughout the entire lifecycle, including heavy equipment hoisting during the construction phase, refueling during shutdown and equipment maintenance during the operation phase, and equipment dismantling during the decommissioning phase. Its operational stability and reliability are directly related to the safety and quality of nuclear island installation. The success of this load test fully verified that all performance indicators of the equipment completely meet the standards for safe and reliable use...

CGN Lufeng Nuclear Power Unit 1 Conventional Island Main Crane Hoisting Successfully Completed

CGN Lufeng Nuclear Power Unit 1 Conventional Island Main Crane Hoisting Successfully Completed

At 21:00 on August 10, 2026, the auxiliary trolley of Crane A for the conventional island of CGN Lufeng Nuclear Power Unit 1 was successfully positioned, marking the successful completion of the hoisting work for Main Cranes A/B of the conventional island of Unit 1. The entire hoisting process lasted 4 days and was completed in 8 lifts in an orderly sequence. The successful hoisting and positioning of the main cranes for the conventional island of Unit 1 is not only a key milestone in the conventional island installation works, but also lays a solid foundation for the introduction of the steam turbine generator and its auxiliary equipment. Lufeng Nuclear Power will continue to collaborate with all participating construction units, adhere to the value orientation of "Three Focuses," deeply practice the work style of "Meticulous, Prudent, Detailed, and Pragmatic," and support the high-quality construction of Unit 1 with practical efforts, injecting strong momentum into building the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project into a benchmark project that is safe, high-quality, and efficient...

First Integrated Hoisting of Nuclear Island Steel Liner Module 5 with Attached Electrical and Instrumentation Cable Tray System within CGN

First Integrated Hoisting of Nuclear Island Steel Liner Module 5 with Attached Electrical and Instrumentation Cable Tray System within CGN

At 15:30 on August 10, 2026, with the successful positioning of Steel Liner Module 5 in the reactor building of Unit 3, the attached electrical and instrumentation (E&I) cable tray system was simultaneously placed, marking the successful completion of the first "Five-ization" installation project for Module 5 attached E&I cable trays within China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN). Traditional nuclear power Module 5 construction adopts a serial mode of "structure first, installation second, commissioning last." The E&I construction for Module 5 of Unit 3 at Taipingling Phase II innovatively adopted an integrated scheme of "prefabrication-installation-integral hoisting." E&I construction was advanced to the module assembly stage, changing the traditional on-site dispersed work method. Through prefabrication of steel materials in workshops, delivery to the site for welding and installation, a large amount of high-altitude, cross-operational...

Hoisting in Place! Global Largest "Artificial Sun" Core Module Installation Progress Exceeds Two-Thirds

Hoisting in Place! Global Largest "Artificial Sun" Core Module Installation Progress Exceeds Two-Thirds

On July 28, local time in France, the sixth vacuum vessel module of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) tokamak device—Sector Module 1—successfully completed its overall hoisting and precise positioning. Thus, the assembly progress of ITER vacuum vessel modules has exceeded two-thirds. As the general assembly enters a new phase of multi-disciplinary cross-construction, the China Nuclear Engineering Consortium led the coordination of the international team to successfully complete this critical hoisting, laying a solid foundation for subsequent assembly tasks, while fully demonstrating the cross-cultural project management and overall coordination capabilities of the Chinese team in international mega-science projects. The vacuum vessel is a core component of the tokamak device, consisting of nine large sector modules installed and connected sequentially,...
