CFHI Dalian Nuclear Power Evaporator Clean Room Project Advances Preliminary Preparations
Recently, preliminary preparations are advancing for the clean room project under the evaporator batch manufacturing capacity building initiative of CFHI Dalian Nuclear Power & Petrochemical. Located in the Dalian Bay coastal equipment manufacturing cluster, the project will improve the clean operating conditions for nuclear power evaporator production and address the shortcomings in supporting processes for batch manufacturing. The project has a total investment of 18.81 million yuan, covering an area of approximately 2,600 square meters, with a new building area of approximately 2,600 square meters. The construction centers on the evaporator tube bundle assembly clean room, supplemented by installation workstations, channel head storage areas, packaging transport track systems, and air purification systems. Since the project launch, relevant departments in Dalian Bay have been providing service support for preliminary work including land planning, engineering scheme preparation, and approval coordination, while liaising with municipal and district-level industry authorities to resolve bottlenecks in project advancement and improve the efficiency of preliminary preparations.

US Inertia Fusion Fuel Preparation Time Significantly Reduced
US fusion startup Inertia Enterprises said it has made progress in inertial fusion energy fuel preparation in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), reducing the time required for the critical step of forming a cryogenic deuterium-tritium fuel layer from potentially several days in the past to tens of minutes. The company said this achievement completes a key task in the first phase of its commercial fusion power plant development goals. The fundamental approach of inertial fusion energy involves using high-energy lasers to compress and heat small targets containing deuterium-tritium fuel, bringing the fuel to ignition conditions and releasing energy. The National Ignition Facility (NIF) has already...

US LIS Technologies Initiates Site Preparation for Oak Ridge Laser Uranium Enrichment Project
LIS Technologies Inc. (LIST) announced on August 20 that it has initiated preliminary site preparation work on the "LIST Island" parcel at the Heritage Center of the East Tennessee Technology Park in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The 206-acre parcel is located within the former K-25 gaseous diffusion plant site. This phase of work includes environmental characterization, environmental assessment, and technical feasibility studies tailored to site conditions. These efforts will provide the preliminary basis for the company's planned commercial laser uranium enrichment headquarters and technology campus, LEU-3. Under current plans, the LEU-3 facility will host the company's FUEL project, namely the Future Uranium Enrichment by Laser project, and support its long-term operations and research...

Rosatom Starts Preparations for Long-Lead Equipment Contracts at Primorskaya NPP
The engineering division of Rosatom recently announced that preparations for signing long-lead equipment manufacturing contracts for the Primorskaya Nuclear Power Plant have commenced, covering the reactor building, turbine hall, core catcher, and other major system components. According to the announcement, the scope of contract preparation includes key equipment such as main reactor building equipment, turbine hall equipment, the Automated Process Control System (APCS) for the units, and the core catcher. Long-lead equipment typically has extended manufacturing cycles and represents a critical element that must be secured early in the pre-construction phase of a nuclear power project. Currently, the project is also advancing multiple public tender preparation efforts, including site vertical layout planning,...

Rostov NPP Completes Preparations for Summer Peak Load
Russia's Rostov NPP has completed a series of preparations for the summer peak load period to cope with abnormally high temperatures in southern Russia and the growth in summer electricity demand, ensuring stable power supply. Located on the shore of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir, Rostov NPP is one of Russia's southernmost nuclear power plants and is part of the power division of Rosatom. The plant operates four VVER-1000 pressurized water reactor units, with each unit generating approximately 25 million kWh of electricity per day. Nuclear power accounts for more than 70% of electricity production in Rostov Oblast and approximately 30% of the unified power system of southern Russia. To cope with the high temperatures...
