Hong Kong deputies to the National People's Congress visit Hefei to inspect fusion device and innovation industry development
On August 4, a delegation of Hong Kong deputies to the National People's Congress conducted an inspection and research visit in Hefei, Anhui Province. The itinerary included visits to the Hefei Innovation Museum, the Memorial Hall of the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign, and the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to learn about the local layout of scientific and technological innovation, the construction of major scientific facilities, and the development of the nuclear fusion industry. At the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the delegation visited the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) nuclear fusion device. 2026 User Annual Conference of Hefei Light Source and Hefei Advanced Light Source Successfully Held in Changchun
From July 26 to 28, the 2026 User Annual Conference of Hefei Light Source and Hefei Advanced Light Source was held in Changchun, Jilin Province. The conference was hosted by the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory of the University of Science and Technology of China, and co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials and Comprehensive Extreme Condition High Pressure Science Center of Jilin University, and the State Key Laboratory of Special Luminescent Science and Technology of the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A total of 317 experts, scholars, and user representatives from 69 universities and research institutes across the country gathered to conduct in-depth exchanges on the construction, operation, and cutting-edge achievements of large-scale scientific facilities. On July 27, the Compact Fusion Energy Experimental Device (BEST), located in Sanshigang Township, Luyang District, Hefei City, Anhui Province, is accelerating its construction. Hefei Proton Leap Commences Operations in Chaohu, Xirong Zhaobo Advances Fusion Equipment Industrialization
